Regression is a 2015 Canadian-Spanish-American psychological thriller horror film directed, manufactured and published by Alejandro Amenábar. The film stars Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson with David Thewlis, Lothaire Bluteau, Dale Dickey, David Dencik, Peter MacNeill, Devon Bostick and Aaron Ashmore.
The film experienced its planet premiere at the San Sebastián Worldwide Film Pageant on September 18, 2015.
The film can take location in Minnesota, in 1990. Detective Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) investigates the case of John Grey (David Dencik) who admits to sexually abusing his 17-yr-outdated daughter, Angela (Emma Watson), immediately after she provides a published complaint on him, but he has no recollection of the abuse. They search for the assist of Professor Kenneth Raines (David Thewlis) to use an experimental system to get back memories on John Grey and appear to suspect that their colleague Detective George Nesbitt (Aaron Ashmore) is included. They detain him but are unsuccessful to uncover evidence towards him. Detectives suspect a satanic cult is included, based on the testimony of Angela, who claims that she was abused by folks in masks and somebody took photos of it.
Bruce and Kenneth fulfill Angela’s estranged brother Roy Grey (Devon Bostick) to inquire about why he left the house. They use regression system on him. He, much too, remembers hooded figures coming into his area whilst he was young. They suspect the grandmother, Rose Grey (Dale Dickey), has some involvement but uncover very little immediately after a lookup of Gray’s house.
